War Hawks Soar to NCAA DIII Outdoor Track & Field Championships

Indianapolis, IN - The McMurry University War Hawks will be well-represented at the 2025 NCAA Division III Outdoor Track & Field Championships, with eight athletes earning selections to the prestigious national meet. The championships will take place from May 22-24, 2025, at the SPIRE Institute's Outdoor Track & Field facility in Geneva, Ohio. The qualifying window for the championships spanned from Saturday, March 1, to Friday, May 16, with selections officially announced on Friday, May 16.

The McMurry men's team will send a strong contingent of six athletes, highlighted by senior DonTre Sinegal. Sinegal qualified in three events, showcasing his versatility and talent. He enters the championships with the top overall seed in the triple jump, boasting a mark of 15.76 meters. He also holds the second-best mark in the long jump with a leap of 7.58 meters and the fourth-best time in the 110-meter hurdles with a seed time of 13.86 seconds.

Adding to the men's sprints, senior Jacorian Colbert earned a spot in the 100-meter dash, entering with the sixth-best seed time of 10.32 seconds. Colbert will also be a key member of the men's 4x100 meter relay team, which qualified with the ninth-best time of 40.51 seconds. Joining Colbert on the relay squad are seniors Shepherd Miller and Dazhaun Walton, along with freshman Kamryn Cleveland. In the field events, senior Reagan Owen will represent the War Hawks in the hammer throw, entering with the 15th-best mark of 59.67 meters.

Two War Hawks will make the trip to Ohio on the women's side. Senior Najwa Campbell qualified in the 100-meter hurdles, holding a seed time of 14.16 seconds, which ties for the 16th-best mark in the nation. Sophomore Brenna Stell will compete in the pole vault, entering the championships with the sixth-best mark of 4.00 meters.

The McMurry track and field program continues to demonstrate its strength and competitiveness on the national stage. The nine athletes heading to the championships will undoubtedly represent the War Hawks with pride and aim to bring home All-American honors.
