Geneva, OH - The NCAA Division III Track and Field Outdoor Championships, held at the SPIRE Institute from May 22 to 24, saw several McMurry University athletes deliver strong performances, with the team ultimately tying for 42nd place among 73 scoring schools.
Among the individual highlights, senior Najwa Campbell in a tough Women's 100m Hurdles placed 19th in the prelims with a time of 17.11. Sophomore Brenna Stell showcased her talent in the Women's Pole Vault, placing 17th with a solid jump of 3.60m. On the men's side, senior Jacorian Colbert was a prominent figure in sprints and hurdles. He finished 18th in the 100m Dash with a time of 10.77 and impressed by placing 3rd in the 110m Hurdles prelims with a time of 14.05, though he was unfortunately disqualified in the finals.
In the jumping events, senior DonTre Sinegal demonstrated his versatility, securing 13th place in the Long Jump with a mark of 6.99m and achieving a notable 6th place finish in the Triple Jump with a jump of 15.07m. Rounding out the individual successes, senior Reagan Owen delivered a strong performance in the Hammer Throw, earning 7th place with an impressive throw of 60.45m.
The Men's 4×100 Relay team, comprised of seniors Shepherd Miller, Jacorian Colbert, Dazhaun Walton, and freshman Kamryn Cleveland, showed great potential by finishing 4th in the prelims. However, they were unfortunately disqualified in the final.
Overall, the McMurry Team concluded the championships in a tie for 42nd place out of 73 scoring schools, a testament to the individual efforts and collective spirit of the athletes.
