War Hawks Reign Supreme: SCAC Track & Field Championship Stays in Abilene

ABILENE, TX - The McMurry University War Hawks successfully defended their crown, repeating as the SCAC Men's Track & Field Conference Champions after a thrilling final day of competition at Wilford Moore Stadium.
 
Fueled by a clutch final push across Sunday's events, the War Hawks racked up a total of 152 points to secure the title. McMurry had to fend off a late surge from second-place Texas Lutheran (145 points) and a strong push from third-place Colorado College (134 points) to claim the ultimate victory. The War Hawks leaned heavily on their elite sprinters, hurdlers, and pole vaulters to distance themselves from the pack.

HIGHLIGHTS
  • Kamryn Cleveland proved to be a powerhouse for the War Hawks, capturing gold in the 200 Meter Dash with a blazing time of 20.91 seconds.
  • Cleveland also delivered crucial points by taking silver in the 100 Meter Dash with a time of 10.48 seconds.
  • Tremion Bryant stepped up in the 110 Meter Hurdles, claiming the gold medal with a winning time of 14.73 seconds.
  • Cleveland followed right behind Bryant in the 110 Meter Hurdles to take silver with a time of 14.76 seconds, resulting in a massive 1-2 finish for McMurry. 
  • Over in the field events, Leroy Burke soared to a gold medal in the Pole Vault by clearing a height of 4.54 meters.
  • Jordan Raschke added to the War Hawks' pole vault dominance by securing the bronze medal with a clearance of 4.34 meters. 
  • Kelvin Goston stood tall in the Discus Throw, taking home first place after launching a massive throw of 49.13 meters.
  • The War Hawks' 4x400 Meter Relay team, featuring Rudy Quintela, Colton Esse, Omar Martinez, and Jeremiah Rodriguez, secured a critical silver medal finish with a time of 3:15.61 to help cement the team championship.
