RICHARDSON, Texas – The American Southwest Conference announced its men's soccer postseason awards on Friday afternoon, as four McMurry University players garnered all-conference recognition in a vote of the league's head coaches.
 
Headlining the list for McMurry was junior forward Andres Martinez, earning his first career postseason award with a third team all-conference selection. Martinez finished the season with two assists, one of which came in a season-ending victory over Sul Ross State on March 27. Martinez led the team with 696 minutes of action and started all eight games.
 
Three other War Hawks earned an honorable mention, including senior midfielder DJ Jaime. Jaime now has back-to-back all-conference selections after being named an honorable mention last year. Jaime played in and started seven games this season and had the game-winning goal against Sul Ross State – a penalty kick in the final five seconds of a 2-1 victory.
 
Freshman Santiago Nunez also earned honorable mention honors, playing in and starting all eight games at forward. Nunez had two goals on 11 shots and five shots on net to lead the team in scoring. His best performance of the season came at Mary Hardin-Baylor, where he played all 97 minutes of a tight overtime loss. He scored a goal on his lone shot of the game.
 
Freshman goalkeeper Angel Salazar is the third honorable mention for McMurry, leading the team with 34 saves in 502:28 minutes of action. He started five games with seven appearances as a freshman, registering a 1.79 GAA and a .773 save percentage. He picked up the win in the season finale against Sul Ross State. Salazar's season high for saves is nine, coming against Concordia Texas.
