Sikora garners second career All-Region honors

KANSAS CITY, Missouri – The United Soccer Coaches announced the 2021 women's All-Region teams on Monday, naming McMurry University senior Meriah Sikora as a second team Region X honoree.

Garnering her second career all-region selection, Sikora is one of 10 American Southwest Conference players to earn a spot on the list. She is also the first player in McMurry women's soccer history to earn United Soccer Coaches all-region honors more than once. Her first selection was in 2019 where she earned third team recognition.

"First and foremost, congratulations to Meriah on her honor and her supportive teammates on an incredibly successful season," said head coach Charles Nobles. "Meriah does so many things that stats will not track but her selection shows that she is one of the best DIII players."

In addition to her All-Region honors, the midfielder earned All-ASC accolades for the fourth straight season after landing on the all-tournament team a few weeks ago. Sikora helped guide McMurry to its second ASC semifinal appearance in program history after taking down Howard Payne on penalty kicks in the quarterfinal round.

Sikora finished her senior campaign with starts in all 19 games and a team-high seven assists. She is tied for second in goals with four and is second on the team in points with 15. Sikora also logged a team-high 1,563 minutes this season.
