KERRVILLE, Texas – McMurry men's tennis won two of three doubles matches and then followed with five singles wins in a 7-2 American Southwest Conference victory over Schreiner University on Saturday.

The War Hawks took victories at the Nos. 1 and 2 doubles slots to start matters off. At first doubles, the tandem of Chris Breaux and Casjen Rico won 8-3. That was followed by an 8-2 win at No. 2 doubles by Preston Steblein and Alex Johnson.

McM got wins at the Nos. 1-4 singles matches, as well as at No. 6 where Colby Freehauf battled to earn a three-set win. Freehauf was dominated in the first set, losing 6-0. However, Freehauf fought back to win set two by a 6-3 score and then took the third tiebreaker set, 10-7.

At the Nos. 1-4 singles slots, Breaux, Rico Steblein and Johnson all won in straight sets, respectively.
