ABILENE – McMurry finished off a strong showing at the ITA Southwest Regional on Sunday, including a consolation champion.
 
After losing his initial Flight C match Jack Greenwald rattled off three consecutive wins, capping his run with a consolation championship over Graham Beevers of Concordia, 6-4, 7-6 (7-4).
 
The War Hawks also had a good weekend in Flight B doubles. Eli Frosch and Isaias Lomeli reached the semifinals with a three-win weekend. Greenwald and Khoen Gregory made it to the quarterfinals with a pair of wins.
 
Frosch and Lomeli also won two singles matches each, reaching the quarterfinals in Flight B.
 
Gregory also had a singles win in Flight C before falling to the top seed in a tough three-set match in the second round.
 
The regional wraps up the fall season for McMurry tennis.
