SAN ANTONIO, TX - McMurry's men's tennis team dropped a 7-0 decision to St. Mary's (TX) in a dual match on Friday afternoon at the Rohrbach Tennis Stadium.
St. Mary's swept all three doubles matches to secure the opening point. At the top flight,
Evan Pezirtzoglou and
Isaac Gutierrez fell 6-2 to Ollie Eriksson and Nikita Gavrilonoks.
Mason Bagwell and
Isaias Lomeli dropped a 6-1 decision at No. 2, while
Angel Ramirez and
Lance Turner were defeated 6-0 in the third doubles spot.
The Rattlers maintained their momentum through singles play, winning all six matches in straight sets.
Isaias Lomeli fought at the No. 1 position but fell 6-2, 6-0 to Aaron Ben Anton. At the No. 2 spot,
Mason Bagwell was defeated 6-0, 6-0 by Leonardo Fabbri.
In the middle of the lineup,
Evan Pezirtzoglou and I. Gutierrez both fell by 6-0, 6-0 scores at the No. 3 and No. 4 positions, respectively.
Lance Turner picked up a game in the second set of his No. 5 singles match before falling 6-0, 6-1 to Ollie Eriksson.
Angel Ramirez rounded out the day with a 6-0, 6-0 loss at the No. 6 spot.
McMurry falls to 0-3 on the season following the road contest.
