ABILENE, Texas – The War Hawks swim teams both dropped matches to Southwestern University on Friday evening at the Phillips Family Center. The McMurry women lost by a 109-49 score, while the men's team fell, 116-86.

For the McM women, Emma Donaldson had a pair of wins in the 200 yard backstroke (2:25.93) and 200 breaststroke (2:41.03). She was also third in 200 individual medley.

Teammate Lauren Noble was first in the 1000 freestyle in a time of 12:00.74 minutes. Samantha Spain got a runner-up in the 200 freestyle (2:11.87), was third in the 50 free (:27.44) and third in the 100 free (1:00.36), as well.

On the men's side, Luis Aguilar was the lone individual event winner. Aguilar topped the competitors in the 200 butterfly, posting a time of 2:04.64, winning by nearly six full seconds over teammate Craig Bell in second place. He garnered a second place in the 200 freestyle (1:52.29), as well.

Aguilar also swam the third leg of the 400 medley relay, along with David Bowers, Kameron Salinas and Kent Grimes. The quartet finished the race at 3:41.28.

McMurry men won the 200 freestyle relay in a clocking of 1:31.07. Cameron Sikes, Bell, K.C. Steblein and Grimes made up the group.

Grimes led a 2-3-4 finish by War Hawks in the 200 backstroke.  After Grimes (at 2:05.89), the next two McM swimmers to touch were Ross Winget (2:06.06) and Bowers (2:08.81). 

Steblein added a pair of runner-up finishes in the 50 freestyle (:22.95) and the 100 freestyle (:51.27) to his day's work. Dalton Walker was second in the men's 500 freestyle (5:15.26). Salinas was also the second-place finisher in the 200 individual medley (2:04.83).
