GARLAND, TX - The McMurry University men's swim team closed out the 2026 SCAC Conference Championship Meet on Saturday evening, claiming third place overall with 428 points to cap off a strong showing at the Garland ISD Natatorium.
Sophomore
Wes Scalf led the way for the War Hawks with the highest individual finish of the day, touching the wall second in the 200-yard breaststroke. Scalf secured the silver medal finish with a time of 2:01.44.
Victor Zambrano added another top-five finish for McMurry in the 200-yard backstroke. Zambrano brought home fifth-place points by finishing with a time of 1:57.96. In the grueling 1650-yard freestyle,
Levi Kleen secured a sixth-place finish for the War Hawks, touching with a time of 17:10.75.
Zach Lindley rounded out the top individual performances by taking seventh place in the 200-yard butterfly, finishing with a time of 2:02.78. The men's team finished the meet strong as the 400-yard freestyle relay quartet of Scalf,
Daniil Kochkonbaev,
Kristopher Cantu, and
Harrison Brown claimed fourth place with a combined time of 3:13.62.
