Men's Soccer Falls at TAMIU, 4-1

LAREDO, Texas – Despite James Ness scoring a goal in his third-straight contest, the McMurry men's soccer team was defeated 4-1 at the hands of the Texas A&M International Dustdevils on Saturday afternoon.

The Dustdevils got on the board first when Arturo Gutierrez beat keeper Neil O'Sullivan in the 11th minute to take the 1-0 lead. Just four minutes later, Diego Manzano-Cano took advantage of a penalty kick at the 15-minute mark to extend the lead to 2-0.

The War Hawks came back three minutes later with a penalty kick of their own, when Ness capitalized for his fifth goal of the season to cut the Dustdevils' lead to 2-1. The teams would go into the half with the same score.

In the second half, the Dustdevils scored two more goals off penalty kicks to take the 4-1 victory. Over the course of the contest, the War Hawks were outshot 24-6. O'Sullivan made seven saves on the day.

McMurry will be back in action on Thursday, October 18 when they return home to take on Dallas Baptist. The contest at Edwards Field is scheduled for a 4 p.m. start.
