SEGUIN, TX - The McMurry men's soccer team suffered a hard-fought 1-0 conference loss to Texas Lutheran on Friday night at Gustafson Field. The War Hawks' defense held the powerful Bulldogs' attack scoreless for nearly 69 minutes, but the offense struggled to find opportunities against the tight Texas Lutheran back line.

The Bulldogs scored the game's only goal in the 69th minute. The War Hawks fought hard to find an equalizer in the final 20 minutes but were unable to break the shutout.

McMurry's offense recorded only two shots, both of which were on target: one from Johnny Rocha in the first half and one from Abel Gonzalez in the first half. Goalkeeper Jose Sanchez was outstanding, recording seven saves on the night to keep the War Hawks in the game.

The War Hawks will look to secure their first conference victory as they continue their road schedule Sunday, October 19th, at 7:30 p.m. against Concordia at the Round Rock Multi-Purpose Complex.
