ABILENE, Texas — Hardin-Simmons' men's soccer team blanked crosstown rival McMurry, 2-0, in American Southwest Conference action at Edwards Field on Saturday afternoon.

The Cowboys had control of play most of the match and outshot McMurry 18-5, including 11-0 in the first half.

Senior Chris O'Brien put the Cowboys on the board at the 25:05 mark of the first half when he scored off a Tyler Murray corner kick. It was his third goal of the season.

HSU added to the lead in the 36th minute when Isaiah Hicks scored his eighth goal of the season on an assist from Logan Tiffany.

HSU put the pressure on all day as they had 12 corner kicks in the game. Geoff Rittimann pitched the shutout in goals for the Cowboys.

With the loss, McMurry falls to 1-11 overall and to 1-6 in ASC action. McMurry will play again against Mary Hardin-Baylor Friday 3 p.m. at Edwards Field.
