SUWANEE, GA - Nyema Muhammad, a sophomore from San Antonio, Texas, has been named the SCAC Softball Pitcher-of-the-Week for games played from Monday, March 30 through Sunday, April 5.
Muhammad secured a key SCAC sweep for the War Hawks last week against Austin College, tossing a complete game in a 2-1 win in game three. Muhammad scattered just three hits and struck out a career-high 11 batters, while allowing just one run to get the win. The start marked the third consecutive for Muhammad in which she did not allow a walk. For the week, Muhammad went 1-0 in the circle, with a complete game, three hit, 11 strikeout performance with a 1.00 ERA and a 0.43 WHIP. The 11 strikeout performance marks the second most strikeouts in a single game this season.
