SUWANEE, GA - The 2026 SCAC Softball Championship is set to begin on Friday, May 1 and will run through Sunday, May 3 in Abilene, Texas at Edwards Field on the campus of McMurry University. Official Website l Printable Bracket

For the 12th consecutive conference tournament, Texas Lutheran (35-4 overall; 27-2 SCAC) will be the overall top seed. The Bulldogs are currently ranked fifth in the nation (NFCA Top 25 Coaches Poll), have won 14 of their last 15 games, and head into the tournament having clinched its 12th-straight SCAC regular season title sweeping Dallas to end the regular season. 

On the other side of the bracket will be St. Thomas (29-8 overall; 27-3 SCAC), which will be the No. 2 seed after a split with Concordia (Tex.) this weekend. The Celts are coming off their second softball title in the last three years after claiming the tournament title in 2025. The Celts captured the SCAC crown going a perfect 3-0, defeating Trinity and TLU twice over the course of three days.

Opening the tournament on Friday will be host and fourth-seeded McMurry (16-19-1 overall; 15-15 SCAC) against the fifth-seeded Ozarks (Ark.) (21-19 overall; 14-16 SCAC) at 11 a.m. Ozarks won two of three when the Eagles visisted Abilene earlier this season. The second game of the day will be a match up between third-seeded Concordia (Tex.) (28-12 overall; 23-7 SCAC) and sixth-seed Centenary (16-22 overall; 14-16 SCAC) in the 1:30 p.m. game. 

Ozarks (Ark.) and Centenary tied for fifth place in the regular season standings, but by virtue of sweeping their series this weekend, the Eagles earned the fifth seed over the Ladies.

Since the inception of the SCAC Softball Tournament in the 1999 season, Texas Lutheran (2014-19, 2021-22, '24) has claimed a league-record nine tournament titles and Trinity (1999, 2000-02, 2005-07) follows closely with seven. DePauw University won three (2008-09, '11) while Southwestern (2010, '13) and St. Thomas (2023, '25) have two each. Millsaps College (2003), Sewanee-University of the South (2004) and Birmingham-Southern College (2012) have one title apiece.
