SHREVEPORT, LA - The McMurry War Hawks wrapped up their series against Centenary College on April 11 at the Centenary Softball Complex. The final score was 6-4 in favor of McMurry.
Centenary scored the first runs of the game in the bottom of the first inning, taking an early 3-0 lead.
McMurry responded in the top of the second inning.
Kaelyn Rodriguez hit a single up the middle to score

Samantha Gonzalez.
Taylor McCurdy followed up with a single to score
Alyssa Hernandez, tying the game at 3-3.
Centenary added one more run in the bottom of the second to take a 4-3 lead.
The War Hawks took the lead in the top of the third.
Marissa Cardenas reached on an error to score
Reaghan Staehely, tying the game again.
Samantha Gonzalez then grounded out to score
Kiera Ramirez, giving McMurry a 5-4 advantage.
McMurry extended their lead in the top of the fifth inning.
Alexis Martinez hit a single up the middle to score
Samantha Gonzalez, pushing the lead to 6-4. Centenary was unable to close the gap further, as the War Hawks held them scoreless for the remainder of the game.
Top Performers
Rexie Sanders: Earned the win with a complete game. She pitched 7.0 innings, allowing just four earned runs and throwing 102 pitches while completely shutting out Centenary over the final five frames.
Kaelyn Rodriguez: Went 2-for-5 at the plate. She drove in two crucial runs with a second-inning single to spark the McMurry comeback.
Marissa Cardenas: Maintained consistent pressure on the basepaths, going 2-for-4. She forced an error that brought home the tying run in the third inning.
Samantha Gonzalez: Finished the game 1-for-3 with a walk. She scored two runs and recorded an RBI groundout that gave the War Hawks the lead for good.
