McMurry War Hawks Announce 2025 Men's Soccer Schedule

ABILENE, TX – The McMurry University War Hawks men's soccer team has released its schedule for the 2025 season, featuring a mix of non-conference and conference matchups under the leadership of new head coach Lorenzo Segura.

The War Hawks enter the 2025 season after finishing the 2024 season with an overall record of 4-13-1 and a 2-9 record in SCAC conference play.

The 2025 season begins with road scrimmages against Wayland Baptist University and Lubbock Christian University in late August.

The regular season begins on August 29th with a home game at Willford Moore Stadium against Arlington Baptist University.

The team will travel to face Lyon College in Arkansas on August 31st before facing crosstown rival Hardin-Simmons University on September 4th at the HSU Soccer Complex.

The War Hawks will return home to host the University of Houston-Victoria on September 7th for Senior Day and East Texas Baptist University on September 11th.

McMurry will return to the road on September 18th to face Howard Payne University and then travel to Belton to play the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor on September 20th.

McMurry begins SCAC play with its next four matches at home against Centenary College on September 26th, the University of St. Thomas, the 2024 SCAC championship runner-up on September 28th, Austin College on October 3rd, and Le Tourneau University on October 5th.

McMurry will travel for their next six conference matches starting in Arkansas against the University of Ozarks on October 10th and Hendrix College on October 12th. The men return to Texas to face off against Texas Lutheran University on October 17th and Concordia at the Round Rock Multi-Purpose Complex on October 19th before traveling to the Rocky Mountain state to play Colorado College on October 24th.

The War Hawks will conclude their season on the road against the University of Dallas on October 26th before returning home to wrap up the regular season against Schreiner University on November 1st.

In the 2024 SCAC standings, Colorado College and Trinity (Tex.) finished with identical 10-0-1 conference records, with Southwestern (Tex.), St. Thomas (Tex.), and Texas Lutheran rounding out the top five.

Following the conclusion of the regular season, the SCAC Conference Tournament will start on November 6th, with the top six schools playing for the conference championship.

New men's coach Lorenzo Segura on his team's upcoming season, "It is very exciting. August cannot come soon enough. With the returning players and the 2025 incoming class, it definitely makes the coming season exciting. We made great progress this past fall season and now our expectations have gotten higher. We want to continue making progress to get to where we want to be." On his upcoming schedule Segura added, "Our schedule has some tough opponents from the get-go. It will push us to start setting expectations early to prepare us in the best way possible to hopefully have us continue playing through November."
