ABILENE – The Associated Press (AP) announced its 2024 NCAA Division III All-American team on Thursday, including McMurry's
Timothy Leatherman.

Leatherman, a senior defensive back from Ingram, was named a second-team AP All-American. He is the 11
th McMurry player and the first since 1968 to be honored by the Associated Press.

"Another awesome and well-deserved award for Tim," said McMurry head coach
Jordan Neal. "He deserves every bit of recognition he's gotten and then some."

Leatherman, who also received AFCA All-America honors, had four interceptions and returned three of those for touchdowns. He had five pass break-ups. He registered 51 tackles, including five tackles for loss and a quarterback sack. Leatherman twice was named Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Player of the Week and was a first-team All-SCAC selection. D3football.com named him to the All-Region Team.
