As McMurry University continues its Centennial Year celebration over 2022-23, its athletic communications office presents a new team among the All-Century athletics list throughout the period leading to the first week of October. Today, the focus is on men's track and field.
Legendary coach
Barbara Crousen is the team's head coach. Under her direction, the program is one of the nation's most recognizable NCAA Division III brands. She helped get it to that lofty stage by earning Hall of Fame honors across numerous organizations and being at the helm for two trophies that adorn a mural in the north end of Wilford Moore Stadium. McMurry has claimed 52 individual event national titles, two NCAA Division III team championships, and a king's ransom in American Southwest Conference championships.
An incredibly deep list of accomplishments surrounds the 50 former scholar-athletes. Those are headlined by
Ricky Parris '73, the program's first national champion claiming four in the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics in 1971 and 1972;
Hann Ollison '10 who captured six NCAA Division III national titles; Cody Brotherton '05 who was a five-time national champion; Brad Parris '01, also a five-time national titlist; and
Kevin Cunningham '12, a four-time national event winner.
