NOTES:
LAST WEEK: After dropping the first two games of the series at home to Concordia Texas, 4-0 and 14-4, the War Hawks bounced back in the series finale, as Hope Schoeneman tossed a complete game shutout in a 3-0 win.
SHUTOUT #2: Saturday's shutout by Schoeneman was her second of the year, with the first coming against Hardin-Simmons. It marks the second straight year the War Hawks have shut out the Tornados in the series finale, as Cheyenne West did the same a year ago.
CAREER FIRST: Shortstop Reyna Garcia made her first career hit a memorable one, as she hit a two-run homer to left in game two of the series with Concordia.
RIPLEY HOMERS AGAIN: First baseman Rachel Ripley hit her sixth home run of the year against Concordia. That ties the number of home runs she hit all of last season.
AT THE PLATE: Ripley's six home runs, 17 RBIs and .400 average are all tops on the team. She also leads the War Hawks with 20 runs scored. Right fielder Summer Quiroga is second with a .333 average, while designated player Kasy Woolard is second with 12 RBIs.
IN THE CIRCLE: Schoeneman has led the War Hawks in the circle, compiling a 6-5 record with a 3.74 ERA and 42 strikeouts.
SCOUTING UMHB: The Crusaders are 10-11, 7-5 ASC after dropping two out of three at UT Tyler. Emily Bounds leads the Cru with a .386 batting average, while four players are tied with two home runs. Avery Kelly tops the team with 15 RBIs. In the circle, Kathryn Reed enters with a 6-3 record and 2.71 ERA.
SCOUTING UTPB: The NCAA II Falcons are just 6-21 overall after a split against ASC foe Sul Ross State. Vanessa Alonzo leads the Falcons with a .354 batting average and 12 RBIs. Ruby Sanchez has a team best 4.53 ERA in the circle and a 1-3 record.
