ABILENE, Texas – McMurry University Women's Soccer is back at home for two games this week, hosting the University of Texas at Dallas Thursday at 5 p.m. and Howard Payne University Saturday at 5:30 p.m. in a pair of American Southwest Conference matchups.

Last Week: McMurry defeated Belhaven 2-0 on the road before playing to a 0-0 tie at Louisiana College. The match against the Wildcats was called in the 95th minute in the first overtime due to weather.
Shutouts: In the matches against Belhaven and Louisiana College, the War Hawks recorded their first two shutouts of the season. This is the first time the War Hawks have shut out back-to-back ASC opponents since 2006. The last time McMurry had consecutive shutouts was in 2014 when it defeated Jarvis Christian in back-to-back games.
Villasana honored: Sophomore goalkeeper Cindy Villasana was named the ASC Co-Defensive Player of the Week this week. She recorded three saves in each of the shutouts last week. In ASC play, she ranks fourth in goals against average at 0.99 and has a current scoreless streak of 193:26.
Unbeaten streak: The War Hawks are currently on a three-match unbeaten streak, with two wins and a tie. The last such streak occurred twice during the 2014 season.
Senior Day: McMurry will celebrate senior day Saturday against Howard Payne after the game. McMurry's three seniors are defender Karen Rocha, midfielder Hannah Way and forward Cristen Lumbreras.
About UT-Dallas: The Comets are tied for first in the ASC at 6-0, and are 12-0 overall. Freshman midfielder Sofia Munoz leads five Comets with double-digit points with 19 on seven goals and five assists.
About Howard Payne: The Yellow Jackets are tied with the War Hawks for seventh in the ASC with seven points and a 2-3-1 record. Overall, Howard Payne sits at 2-7-1. Sophomore forwards Lesly Garcia and Jada Austin pace the Yellow Jackets' offense with two goals apiece.
