AUSTIN, Texas – The McMurry men's basketball team is still looking to solidify a berth in the American Southwest Conference post-season tournament and can  take a huge step in that direction on Thursday, when it travels to Concordia-Texas. Tip-off is slated for 7:30 p.m.

The War Hawks' team (14-7, 10-7 ASC) is currently sitting on a precarious perch tied for fourth in the ASC West, with just four teams qualifying for the league's post-season tournament. Concordia (13-8, 11-6 ASC) is directly ahead of McM (and Schreiner) in the ASC West in third place, by one game.

The last time these two teams met in Abilene, the War Hawks put a 111-79 spanking on the
Tornados. The loss seemed to ignite CUTX, which has since won its last five games in a row. The
Tornados are coming off of a 96-92 win over Howard Payne last Saturday.

Darius Anderson and Nick Haynes both average better than 16 points a game for Concordia. Darien Harris tops the team in rebounds at 5.9 per game.

McMurry senior forward Steven Jones appears back on track after a couple of off games following a hard spill two weeks ago. Jones poured in 18 points at Texas Lutheran last Saturday to lead a big win, which snapped a four-game War Hawk skid. He also averages a team-leading 8.8 rebounds per game.

Bryce Hill's deft eye from three-point range has his scoring average up to 14.3 points per game, while shooting a cool 40 percent from beyond the arc.

Senior point guard Jaden Isler also averages in double-digits scoring at 13.0 p.p.g. and gives off a league-leading 5.8 assists per game, as well.

Dominick Walker has moved up to second place in the ASC in rebounds, pulling down an average of 9.8 boards per game for the War .

“This is an important week for our team,” McM Head Coach J.D. Isler said. “We're at the point where all the contending teams are facing each other head-to-head down the stretch. Every game's important and we have to come out ready to play.”
