Reserves key McMurry win over Sul Ross State

ABILENE, Texas – McMurry took its highest margin of victory for the season Thursday night in a 82-39 win over Sul Ross State at Kimbrell Arena. Four players scored in double figures for McMurry and the Lobos fell to 2-20 on the season.

McMurry scored the first 14 points of the game to set the tone and dominated the Lobos throughout. McMurry was able to empty its bench and 14 of McMurry's 15 players scored in the game while all 15 got at least six minutes of playing time.

Kelsey Lindemuth scored 12 points off the bench while Anna Berthel, Erica Rawls and Jordan Stansell all had 10 points. McMurry shot 47 percent for the contest and kept Sul Ross State to just a 25-percent effort.

The Lady Lobos hit just 10 of 40 shots and were led by Liz Pereyra who had 17 points and six rebounds. Misha Henderson had 11 points in the losing effort.

McMurry had 10 turnovers in the first half, but had just two in the second period despite playing its reserves for most of the final half. All in all, McMurry's bench scored 55 points compared to the Lady Lobos' four points. McMurry out-rebounded Sul Ross State 53-28 and had 29 second-chance points thanks to 22 offensive rebounds.

Kyla Hutson, Andi Lukaszewski, and Jordan Stansell had season-highs on the night. Hutson, who had just four points all season long, scored nine points on three 3-point field goals. Lukaszewski had a season-high nine and Stansell tied a season-high with 10, which was her second-straight game to score 10 points.

McMurry's 43-point victory surpassed its previous season-high of 35 points when it beat Concordia-Chicago by 35 points Dec. 30. Twelve of McMurry's 15 players had at least one assist. In fact on the season, McMurry has five players with at least 30 assists on the season, which hasn't happened since the 2005-06 season.
