McMurry Looks to Reach 2nd Highest Win Total in School History

Rachel Moore scored her fifth goal of the season most since Alex Schoepf school record nine in 2006
The McMurry women's soccer team has matched the second-highest win total in history with two victories in 2010 entering the final weekend of play with a 2-13 overall record and a 2-9 mark in league play. First-year head coach Alan Riches will look to guide McMurry to its best finish since the 2006 squad had a program-best 5-11 record this weekend with the team's final two matches of the season.

McMurry's best chance at posting its third win could come against LeTourneau Friday at McMurry's Edwards Field. The Yellow Jackets will enter the contest with a 1-14-1 overall record and a 1-9-1 mark in league. Then, McMurry will close the season Saturday with a match against East Texas Baptist (5-7-1, 5-4-1).

This past Friday in Kerrville, McMurry lost a double overtime thriller against Schreiner University when Lizeth De La Torre took a pass from Amanda Moon and scored in the 103rd minute.

Rachel Moore scored the lone McMurry goal when she scored off a Hillari Chambers
pass and put it past the Schreiner goalie Genevieve Monroe in the 73rd minute. For
Moore, it was her fifth goal of the season marking the most by a McMurry player since Alex Schoepf's school record nine goals in 2006.

Saturday in Seguin, McMurry was only able to muster two shots with neither coming
on goal against Texas Lutheran and the Bulldogs took a 5-0 victory. For TLU, Kaysie Boomhower recorded a hat trick and added an assist on the last goal of the day by Raven DeLeon.
