ABILENE -- Led by its seniors on “Senior Day,” the McMurry men's basketball team stormed past Concordia Texas, 89-67, in an American Southwest Conference West Division game Saturday afternoon at Kimbrell Arena.

Jonathan Walker combined for 51 points while senior guard
Robert Moreno dished out 14 assists and senior center
Brett Johnson played pesky defense all night to help McMurry win its regular-season home finale.
The win pushes McMurry to 15-6 overall and 14-3 in conference play. The first-place McMurry men return to action on Thursday when they head down to Alpine to take on Sul Ross State in another ASC West game. Tip time is slated for 7:30 p.m.
The teams were tied at seven after the first five minutes of play, but after that it was McMurry's night. McMurry finished the last 15 minutes of the first half by outscoring the Tornados 37-23 as they took a commanding 14-point lead (44-30) into the halftime break. More of the same continued in the second half as McMurry led by a double-digit margin the entire frame en route to the 22-point victory (which was also the largest lead for McMurry in the game).
Hall led the way for McMurry as he scored a game-high 26 points on 10 of 16 shooting from the floor, including 6 of 10 from behind the arc. Hall also grabbed six rebounds. Walker was right behind Hall as he poured in 25 points and grabbed six rebounds.
Moreno, who last week against CTX handed out a career-high 15 assists, dished out 14 assists (he only turned the ball over two times) in his final regular-season game at Kimbrell Arena. The fan favorite also scored six points and tallied two steals. Johnson also made his presence known in his final regular-season home game as he altered many CTX shots. Johnson finished the game with three rebounds and one block.
Other top performers for McMurry included junior forward
Jamal Anene, who dominated the boards with his career-high 17 rebounds and eight points; sophomore forward
Richard Jones, who grabbed 11 rebounds and scored eight points; and junior guard
Ricky Burney, who scored eight points on 3 of 5 shooting from the floor.
