McMurry University Athletics

A combo-guard that is known for his shooting ability as well as his ability to slash and get to the rim and finish.  Should see significant playing time at the off-guard position, but could also see time at the point.  Before McMurry:  Spent the 2008 season playing for coach Jim Sanderson at NAIA member Faulkner University (Ala.).  Averaged seven points, three assists and three boards a game as Faulkner made it to the semifinal round of the Southern State Athletic Conference postseason tournament.  Prior to Faulkner, Walker played two seasons for coach Kevin Gill at McClendan Junior College.  For the 2007 season, Walker averaged six points a game and helped McClendan to the second-round of the regional tournament.  High School:  Three-year letterwinner for coach Robert Wright at Dallas Carter High School.  Was a first-team all-district selection his senior year as he averaged 12 points, five rebounds a two assists a game.  Personal:  2005 graduate of Dallas Carter High School.  Goes by the nickname “J-Walk.”  Born 25 Dec. 1986.
