McMurry, who has 96 points and holds a 26-point lead over second place Texas Lutheran University, earned three golds on the day and have a meet-high five after two days of competition. The War Hawks have posted nine all-SCAC performances, which also leads the way at this year's championships.

On Saturday, finals were conducted in six more events, including the field events of the shot put, hammer, high jump and triple jump and track events in the 3,000 meter steeplechase and 10,000 meters. For just the second time in over a decade, the meet's field size precipiated the need for prelims in several track events, which were conducted throughout the afternoon.
