SUWANEE, GA - Aryana Cleveland, a senior forward from San Antonio, Texas, has been named the SCAC Women's Basketball Defensive Player-of-the-Week for games played from Monday, November 17 through Sunday, November 23.
Cleveland lifted the War Hawks to a perfect 3-0 record to start the season for the first time since 2022-23 with wins last week over Howard Payne and Trinity. She was a defensive force, averaging three steals a game, including six in the win over Howard Payne. Cleveland also averaged 6.5 defensive rebounds and 1.0 block per night as her efforts have McMurry currently allowing just 61.7 points per game to opponents, early in the season. The War Hawks are one of just three teams in the SCAC currently allowing opponents un 62 points per game.
