SAN ANTONIO, TX - The McMurry Men's Swimming team delivered a powerful performance on the second day of the highly competitive Trinity University Tiger Invitational, highlighted by a massive individual win and multiple B-Final appearances. The team's focused effort throughout the day saw them climb the team standings, finishing Saturday with 51 total points.
A-Final Victory: Scalf Dominates 100 Breaststroke
Sophomore Wes Scalf was the star of the day, securing the War Hawks' first A-Final victory of the Invitational. After a stellar preliminary swim, Scalf touched first in the 100 Yard Breaststroke A-Final with an outstanding time of 56.03. His dominant swim topped a fast field of competitors and earned significant points for the War Hawks.
B-Final Excellence: Brown and Scalf Score in IM and Fly
The War Hawks continued to prove their strength in depth by securing multiple finals spots:
- 400 Yard Individual Medley: Senior Harrison Brown qualified for the B-Final and finished 11th overall, posting a time of 4:24.09. Brown's consistent effort scored critical points in this demanding event.
- 100 Yard Butterfly: In addition to his breaststroke heroics, Wes Scalf showcased his versatility by qualifying for the 100 Fly B-Final. He raced to a strong 9th-place finish with a time of 51.22.
