Relay team makes splash at Oliver Jackson Twilight

ABILENE, Texas – McMurry University Track & Field completed its final meet before the American Southwest Conference Championship this past week at the ACU Oliver Jackson Twilight hosted by Abilene Christian University on Thursday.

The big highlight of the day came in the 4x400 meter relay, as McMurry's team of Dazhaun Walton, Jaheim Billison, Griffin Gayler and Jayden Sloan ran a season-best time of 3:13.28 to move into first in the ASC, second at the meet and third in NCAA Division III.

The time was over five seconds faster than last week's time in Houston and was less than three seconds off the school record set in 2006. Sloan, the anchor of the relay, ran a sub-46 second time in his split in an impressive come-from-behind effort.
