ABILENE, Texas – The McMurry University track and field squad traveled down to San Antonio on Friday and Saturday for its first outdoor meet outside of Abilene this season – the Trinity Invitational at Trinity University.

Track Highlights:
- Sophomore Jayden Sloan had an incredible outing on the track, setting a new personal best in the 400 meter dash with a time of 48.60 to place third in the event. He also ran in the men's 4x400 relay and had a split that was nearly two seconds faster than his personal best from before. His 400 time currently ranks second in the nation and the 4x400 is first in the nation.
- Freshman Najwa Campbell and junior Nandhi Brown currently rank second and third among NCAA Division III sprinters in the 100 meter hurdles. Campbell ran a time of 15.37 to finish third at the meet and Brown finished fifth at 15.55.
- Freshman Dazhaun Walton finished eighth in a field of 28 in the 100 meter dash with a time of 11.12 (0.6) – a new personal best. He currently ranks fourth in the nation. Walton also ran on the 4x100 and 4x400 relay times, the latter of which ranks atop the nation.
- Freshman Losuria Webb-Barber had a personal record in the women's 200 with a time of 27.94 (0.8) to finish 13th in a deep field.
- Freshman Jamari Williams led McMurry in the 200 meter dash with a new personal best time of 22.77, ranking fifth in NCAA Division III and ninth at the meet. Caleb Kwiatkowski was not far behind him at 22.84.
- Seniors Jacob Williams and Michael Limones also ran the 400, finishing with respective times of 50.33 and 50.76 to rank among the national top 10.
- The men's 4x400 relay 'A' team finished third with the fastest time in D3 at 3:19.47, trailing only Angelo State's teams at the meet. Walton, Williams, Sloan and Limones made up the lineup. Thirteen relay teams competed in the event at Trinity.
- The women's 4x400 ranks fifth of 18 teams in D3 and finished fifth at the meet with a time of 4:23.60. Campbell, Kelby Tidwell, Webb-Barber and Breauna Connor were the runners on Saturday.
Field Highlights:
- Sophomore Ellie Ryan competed in four events and placed third in the women's discus throw with a mark of 35.15m. She also had a personal best in the hammer throw at 37.12m to finish sixth and led the War Hawks in the javelin with a sixth place finish at 30.91m.
- Sutton Welch finished with an 11.76m mark in the men's shot put – 0.10m better than last week – and with a 43.84m throw in the men's hammer to finish seventh.
- Ryan, Corbin Stulir and Sylvia Harmon competed in the women's shot put, finishing with respective marks of 10.19m for eighth, 9.45m for 11th and 9.20m for 13th. Freshman Jaycee Brown had a mark of 8.42m.
- Stulir placed eighth in the javelin with a new personal best of 30.03m. She also placed 11th in the shot put with a mark of 9.45m.
- Margo Mendoza also competed in the women's discus, placing seventh with a mark of 32.28m. Glenda Parra finished with a mark of 32.03 to place eighth.
- Justin DeLeon finished in the top half of the field in the men's long jump with a personal best mark of 6.36m.
- Freshman Kendyl Henry led McMurry in the women's hammer throw with a mark of 30.40m – a new personal best.

With two weeks to prepare, the War Hawks will be in action again on March 18-20 at the Wes Kittley Invitational in Abilene, hosted by Abilene Christian University.
