ABILENE, Texas – McMurry University Softball takes a break from conference play this week to visit Austin College Wednesday afternoon for a doubleheader.

NOTES:
LAST WEEK: McMurry kept things rolling at home, sweeping Louisiana College 7-0, 8-2 and 9-1.
SCHOENEMAN HONORED: Senior pitcher Hope Schoeneman earned her second ASC Pitcher of the Week award of the season after tossing her third complete game shutout this season. She allowed five hits while striking out three.
LEADING OFF: Junior second baseman Savannah Flinn hit a pair of leadoff home runs over the weekend. Her first leadoff home run of game one came on the first pitch she saw.
STOTTS STELLAR: Freshman pitcher Kinleigh Stotts improved to 2-0 in her first two appearances. She earned the win in her first career start Sunday by tossing five innings, allowing just one unearned run and now sports a 0.91 ERA on the season.
AT THE PLATE: Sophomore Camille Scott leads five batters batting above .300 and three above .400 with a .458 average. Scott, juniors Kelsey Ahart and Emily Michki each have nine RBIs, while Flinn has a team-high five home runs and 14 RBIs.
IN THE CIRCLE: Schoeneman is 3-0 in the circle with a 1.50 ERA, while Scott is 4-1 with a 3.50 ERA. Both pitchers have 21 strikeouts, as McM boasts a 2.90 team ERA.
SCOUTING AC: Austin College enters the week at 3-17, having lost 10 in a row. Freshman utility player leads the Kangaroos with a .326 batting average, while senior infielder Ashley Mayorga has a team-high 12 RBIs. Freshman pitcher Reina Serrano is 2-5 with a 5.53 ERA, as the 'Roos have a team ERA of 7.70.
THE SERIES: The War Hawks and 'Roos squared off for the first time in 2019, with McMurry winning both games at the Abilene Round Robin. McM won by scores of 9-1 and 14-3.
