ABILENE, Texas – After two weeks off, McMurry University Softball returns to the diamond at Red Bud Park Friday and Saturday for a three-game American Southwest Conference series against Concordia University Texas.
Friday's doubleheader gets underway at 4 p.m. with Saturday's first pitch scheduled for noon. Live stats and video links will be available at mcmurrysports.com.
NOTES
LAST WEEK: McMurry's scheduled doubleheader at UT Permian Basin last week was postponed until March 26. The weekend prior, the War Hawks were swept at UT Tyler.
RETURN HOME: It will have been nearly a month since the War Hawks last played a home game, with the last being February 16 versus LeTourneau University.
AT THE PLATE: First baseman Rachel Ripley leads McMurry with a .426 average and five home runs and 15 RBIs. Right fielder Summer Quiroga is second with a .325 average and designated player Kasey Woolard is second with 11 RBIs.
IN THE CIRCLE: Right hander Hope Schoeneman leads the War Hawks with a 5-4 record and 4.20 ERA. She has five complete games and 32 strikeouts.
SCOUTING CTX: The Tornados are 8-9, 3-6 ASC after being swept by Hardin-Simmons and having their series against UT Tyler postponed. Haley Dennett leads six Tornados batting over .300 with a .385 average. Summer Harper has one of the team's two home runs and leads the team with 14 RBIs. In the circle, Heather Casiano is 4-0 with a 3.00 ERA.
