PINEVILLE, La. -  McMurry University women's tennis proved to be "road warriors" on Friday, departing Abilene at 6 a.m. and, by the time the team's day had ended in Pineville, La. around 4 p.m., adding a pair of victories to its ledger. The War Hawks (3-5) began their day with a win at Louisiana State University-Shreveport, 7-2, before jumping in vans and heading to Louisiana College to notch a 9-0 tally in the "W" column.
 
At LSUS, McM won two of three doubles bouts to get a jump in the team score.  At No. 1 doubles, Samantha Ritz and Kiara Jones earned an 8-3 win.  McMurry's No. 2 pair of Zayra Gomez and Claire Huffine also won by and 8-3 score.
 
Ritz also posted a dominating win at No. 1 singles, topping LSUS' Lilly Humphrey, 6-0. LSUS won the No. 2 singles bout, but McM would take the Nos. 3-6 contests – with Huffine, Gomez, Briana Perez and Kaitlyn Roberts - to complete the 7-2 win.
 
Versus Louisiana College, the War Hawks lost just four games in the entire match.  In doubles, in addition to its Nos 1 and 2 teams winning, Symphony Munoz and Roberts also won at No. 3 to complete the sweep in tandem play.
 
 A 6-0 march through singles then followed for McM.  Ritz won at No. 1 singles, 8-1, with the succeeding five matches all won by 8-0 scores.  Huffine and Gomez garnered wins at the Nos. 2 and 3 contests.  Perez, Neah Garza and Gabrielle Ellwanger won at the Nos. 3-6 flights.
