ABILENE, Texas – After a nine-day layoff, the McMurry University women's basketball team will swing back into action with three contests on the books this week. On Tuesday (Nov. 20/ 6 p.m.), the War Hawks will travel to Seguin to take on Texas Lutheran University before embarking on a two-game swing to the Pacific Northwest to take on Whitman College (Wash.) and Whitworth University (Wash.) on Saturday (Nov. 24/10 p.m. CT) and Sunday (Nov. 25/3 p.m. CT), respectively, in Spokane, Washington.
The War Hawks will head into the busy week with a somewhat deceiving overall record of 0-2. McM opened the year with an 86-52 non-conference loss to No.12/14 ranked East Texas Baptist at home, before hitting the road to a loss at NCAA Division I Houston Baptist University (92-41). The War Hawks also lost a road exhibition bout at another NCAA I school, Lamar University (100-37).

SCOUTING TEXAS LUTHERAN: The Bulldogs are 2-1, with both of its victories coming over American Southwest Conference teams Concordia-Texas (74-63) and LeTourneau (53-50) in overtime. Like McM, TLU lost to East Texas Baptist (71-52) for its lone setback of the year thus far. The Bulldogs also dropped an 82-38 exhibition UT-Rio Grande Valley. Cami Davis averages 13.3 points, 2.7 assists and 4.7 rebounds a game, while Morgan Rodriguez checks in at 10.7 points and a team-best 7.0 boards per game.
LAST TIME OUT VERSUS THE BULLDOGS: The War Hawks scored a 58-42 win over TLU last season (Dec. 15, 2017) in Abilene.
Sarah Doherty had a game-leading 18 points by going 6-for-11 from the field, all from beyond the arc. Senior
Sham Hunter added 12 points and
Skyler Reyna 10. The War Hawks had 19 steals versus the Bulldogs, with no TLU player tallying in double figures.
SCOUTING WHITMAN COLLEGE: The Blues will bring a 2-2 mark into their contest with McM. WC's losses have come versus Eastern Oregon University (52-49) and Montana Tech (89-87). Those setbacks sandwiched wins over Walla Walla University (107-33) and former ASC foe UT-Tyler (74-62). The Blues opened the year with a par of exhibition losses to Lewis-Clark State College (68-58) and Central Washington University (80-76). The WC duo of Makana Stone (17.8 p.p.g.) and Mady Burdett (17.0 p.p.g.) propel the squad's offense, with Kaelan Shamseldin (10.0 p.p.g.) also averaging in double-figure scoring. Stone is also rock solid as the Blues' top rebounder at 8.8 caroms per game.
SCOUTING WHITWORTH UNIVERSITY: The Pirates are 1-1 (with a Tuesday evening match-up versus Walla Walla University also on tap this week). Whitworth opened its season with a loss to Montana Tech (52-68) before topping UT-Tyler (74-70), both on the Bucs home floor. Freshman forward Megan Dorney is the club's leading scorer at 17.0 points per game. Camy Aguinaldo (11.5 p.p.g.) and Jordan Smith (10.5 p.p.g.) average in double digits. Dorney tops the team in rebounds at 8.0 rebounds per game, followed by Madison Moffat at 6.5 r.p.g.
PRETTY WHIT-Y: The games versus Whitman and Whitworth will be the first-ever meeting with each for the War Hawks' women's hoops program.

Skyler Reyna needs 53 more rebounds to reach 500 boards for her McMurry career.
ADD REYNA: Reyna notched her 700th career point in the loss at Houston Baptist. She currently sits at 701 total career points.
