SAN ANTONIO, Texas – McMurry University's women's basketball team dropped its season-opening game on Friday afternoon, falling to Angelo State University, 72-44, in the first round of the St. Mary's Classic.
The Rambelles had four players in double-figure scoring, led by Hilari Adam, who poured in a game-high 24 points. Three other ASU players had 10 points, apiece.
McM was led by senior guard
Tory Salazar's 12 points. Salazar had a 5-of-9 night shooting from the field, including 2-of-4 from beyond the arc, in her 33 minutes on the court.
Senior
Keshia Collins came off the War Hawks' bench to score eight points. Collins also gave off a team-leading three assists and made five steals.

Tineka Lawson led McM with seven rebounds.
The War Hawks trailed by a manageable 31-21 margin at the half, but were out-scored 41-23 in the second stanza.
ASU won the battle of the boards, out-rebounding McMurry, 38-27. McM committed 21 turnovers, compared to 14 by the Rambelles.
Angelo State shot 47.4 percent from the field (27-57) for the game and was 8-of-19 from three-point range. McM was 18-of-50 from the floor (36 percent) and managed 6-of-20 from three-point country.
McMurry will take on Texas A&M University-Kingsville on Saturday at 4 p.m. in its second game of the tourney.
