Women's Basketball Looks to Get Back to Win Column Versus UMHB

BELTON, Texas – McMurry University's women's basketball team, already locked in to no worse than the No. 3 seed in the American Southwest Conference West Division, will be looking to regain some momentum when it faces the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor on Saturday afternoon (1 p.m.).

The War Hawks (15-7, 13-5 ASC) trail the ASC West co-leaders (Howard Payne and Concordia-Texas) by two games with three remaining.

Thursday's loss at Concordia (59-50) dealt a blow to the War Hawks' hopes to take the ASC title, but with a bout versus Howard Payne next weekend in Abilene, the team still has the chance for the top spot with some help. It was McMurry's second loss in a row.

Sophomore Keshia Collins had a double-double of 14 points and 10 rebounds to pace McM in Thursday's setback. On the year, Collins leads the team with 14.9 points per game and 6.7 rebounds per game averages. Collins also leads te War Hawks in assists and steals.

Guard Rikeita Thomas (9.6 p.p.g.) and post player Celeste Belizario (8.0 p.p.g.) rank second and third, respectively, on the team in scoring.

Forward M.J. Vickers gives Head Coach Veronica Snow's team an average of 7.5 points and 6.5 boards per game.

Jamie Wilson tallied 13 points and seven rebounds in versus Concordia, upping her season scoring average to 6.8 p.p.g.
