BROWNWOOD — Jamal Anene had his third consecutive double-double with 22 points and 16 rebounds, while Jeremie Hart scored a 24 points Saturday to lead the McMurry men's basketball team to an 83-78 victory over Howard Payne in American Southwest Conference West Division action.

McMurry (11-5 overall, 9-3 ASC) saw a seven-point lead midway through the second half dwindle to one with 23 seconds left when HPU's Keith Perry converted a three-point play. The Nation led 79-78 seven seconds left when Anene converted a three-point opportunity.

Brandon Irwin scored a game-high 29 points for HPU (2-15, 2-11) while Perry finished with 17 points, nine rebounds and seven assists. Steven Luckey added 18 points for McMurry.
