Men's Basketball Announces 2026-27 Schedule

ABILENE, Texas - The 2026-27 season returns McMurry University men's basketball to the American Southwest Conference (ASC). The War Hawks have released a demanding and action-packed 2026-27 schedule designed to test the squad early and prepare them for a rigorous conference race at Kimbrell Arena.

"We are very excited about our non-conference slate for this year. I think we put together a really challenging schedule from start to finish that will set us up to be playing our best basketball in January and February," said head coach Matt Bolton.

The War Hawks open the 2026-27 campaign on the road, traveling to Longview, Texas, to face LeTourneau University on November 6. Following early-season road matchups and exhibitions, including a crosstown exhibition clash against NCAA Division I foe Abilene Christian University at Moody Coliseum on November 18, McMurry returns to Kimbrell Arena for its home opener on November 20 against Southwestern University.

November also features home dates against former Texas Lutheran University and Austin College before heading north for the NWU Thanksgiving Classic in Lincoln, Nebraska, where the War Hawks will face Simpson College and Nebraska Wesleyan University.

December brings more marquee tournaments and tests, starting with a home matchup against the University of St. Thomas on December 1. McMurry travels to Brownwood, Texas, for the Dallas Huston Classic on December 4–5 to take on Arlington Baptist University and Dallas Christian College, then heads to the University of Dallas on December 9. The non-conference slate concludes in late December with the high-profile ASC/CCIW Challenge in Belton, Texas, against Augustana College and North Central College.

The calendar turn marks the official start of the conference journey. After hosting Dallas Christian College on January 6, the War Hawks dive deep into the ASC schedule.

Key conference highlights include a road matchup against crosstown rival Hardin-Simmons University on January 14, followed by away tests at Schreiner University and Howard Payne University. McMurry returns to Kimbrell Arena in late January to host East Texas Baptist University and the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor.

The regular season wraps up in February with a home-and-home stretch against conference foes before the American Southwest Conference Tournament tips off on February 25.
