McMurry Women's Basketball Announces 2025-2026 Schedule Following Historic Postseason Run

ABILENE, TX – University Athletics is thrilled to announce the official schedule for the 2025-2026 women's basketball season. The highly anticipated campaign follows a historic 2024-2025 season in which the War Hawks advanced to the NCAA Sweet Sixteen for the first time since the 1999-2000 season. The team finished with an impressive 23-6 overall record and a 14-2 conference mark for a share of the Gold Division championship. The new season will be the first under the leadership of new head coach Laura Lange.

"The success of last season laid the foundation for what we're building here – a winning and consistent program. The momentum we gained has fueled our excitement and determination, and we can't wait to carry that energy into the upcoming season," said Coach Lange.

The War Hawks will open their campaign on the road in Brownwood against Howard Payne University on November 10. McMurry will then travel to Kingsville for an exhibition tilt against Texas A&M-Kingsville on November 15.

McMurry plays host to Howard Payne University on November 20 and Trinity University on November 22.  Conference play against Schreiner University (6-19 overall, 4-12 SCAC) first on the road on November 25 and then at home on December 1.

Following an exhibition at Abilene Christian University on December 2, the War Hawks will face rival Hardin-Simmons University at the Mabee Complex on December 13, then travel to face off with Sul Ross State on December 16.

A highlight of the challenging non-conference slate will be a trip to Honolulu, Hawaii, for the Hoops In Hawai'i Classic on December 21 and 22, where they will take on Linfield University and St. Norbert College.

Following their trip to the Aloha State, McMurry will start off the new year hosting the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor on January 3 in Kimbrell Arena.

Conference play resumes with home matchups against Centenary College (2-22 overall, 1-15 SCAC) on January 9 and SCAC newcomer LeTourneau University (9-18 overall) on January 11.

The War Hawks' next four contests are all on the road, starting with Concordia University (13-12 overall, 8-8 SCAC) on January 16. This game is followed by matchups against three teams that made the conference tournament in 2024-2025, starting with the Gold Division co-champion and SCAC conference champion, Texas Lutheran University (24-5 overall, 14-2 SCAC), on January 17. The War Hawks will then face the Blue Division champion, Colorado College (23-4 overall, 15-1 SCAC), on January 23 and the Blue Division runner-up, University of St. Thomas (14-10 overall, 12-4 SCAC), on January 25.

The women follow this tough road test with four home contests against SCAC newcomer Hendrix College (9-17 overall) on January 30, University of the Ozarks (13-13 overall, 7-9 SCAC) on February 1, with rematches against Colorado College on February 6 and University of St. Thomas on February 8.

McMurry then has another pair of road games, first at Austin College (9-15 overall, 5-11 SCAC) on February 13, followed by University of Dallas (3-22 overall, 2-14 SCAC) on February 14.

The regular season wraps up with home games against Concordia on February 20 and Texas Lutheran University on February 22.

The SCAC Conference Tournament is scheduled for February 27-March 1 in Conway, Arkansas, where the War Hawks will look to make another deep postseason run and build on their recent succes
