SCAC Announces 2025 Women's Basketball Tournament Bracket

SUWANEE, Ga. -- The SCAC office today announced the women's bracket for the 2025 conference basketball tournament, which will begin Friday, Feb. 28 in Irving, Texas on the campus of University of Dallas.

The seeds for this year's women's tournament are as follows:

Blue Division
1) Colorado College (15-1 SCAC; 23-2 overall)
2) St. Thomas (12-4 SCAC; 14-9 overall)
3) Ozarks (7-9 SCAC; 13-12 overall)

Gold Division
1) McMurry (14-2 SCAC; 21-4 overall)
2) Texas Lutheran (14-2 SCAC; 20-4 overall)
3) Trinity (10-6 SCAC; 14-11 overall)

Colorado College, winners of the SCAC Blue Division and ranked 21st in the most recent D3hoops.com poll, has already established a school record for single-season wins and is currently riding a 12-game winning streak, the program's longest since the 1976-77 season. The Tigers, who have made it to the championship final each of the last four seasons, are seeking their first-ever SCAC tournament title. As divisional champion, CC receives one of two first round byes and will play the winner of Friday's first quarterfinal at Noon CT on Saturday.

McMurry University, co-champions of the SCAC Gold Division along with Texas Lutheran University, earned the second first-round bye by virtue of its head-to-head sweep of the Bulldogs this season, including a 76-69 victory in Abilene on Friday. The War Hawks are attempting to become just the second women's program to win a conference basketball title in their first season in the league and the first since the Texas Lutheran women took home the 2014 tournament crown to culminate their initial season in the SCAC.

With Colorado College ranked 25th, McMurry 32nd and Texas Lutheran 44th in the most current NCAA Power Index Rankings (through games of 2/22), the SCAC is one of just five conferences in Division III with three or more women's teams ranked in the Top 45.

Trinity, the defending champions of the event and third seed from the Gold Division, will attempt to build on its current record streak and become the first women's program since the league re-enstated the conference championship tournament in 2003 to win five straight postseason titles.

The winner of this year's championship tournament, which is being hosted by Dallas for the first time since 2015, will represent the conference in the NCAA Tournament as the league's automatic qualifier.
