ABILENE, TX – The McMurry University women's golf program concluded its fall schedule with a strong showing at the Abilene Intercollegiate, hosted by Hardin-Simmons University at the par-71 Live Oak Golf Club.
The War Hawks finished the tournament in fifth place in the six-team field, posting a total score of 680 (351-329). The team's performance was highlighted by a significant improvement of 22 strokes from Monday's opening round to Tuesday's final round, reflecting an excellent display of adjustment and resilience.
Henslee and Kinnan Lead the Charge
McMurry's effort was led by Katelynn Henslee, who secured a top-15 finish. Henslee finished tied for 13th individually with a total score of 164 (83-81), providing steady play across both days.
The most dramatic round of the tournament came from Addisyn Kinnan, whose final score propelled the team up the leaderboard. Kinnan shaved an incredible 18 strokes off her opening round of 95 to post a 77 in the final round. Her two-day total of 172 (95-77) moved her up the standings into a tie for 28th place.
Top Performers
Kenlee Turner finished just ahead of Kinnan, tied for 24th, with a total score of 171 (87-84), while Karen Santos finished one stroke back at 173 (86-87), placing her 32nd overall. Raelynn Leifeste closed out the McMurry team scoring with a 194 (97-97). Victoria Arizpe competed as an independent, finishing with a score of 184 (95-89).
