SUWANEE, TX - Avery Anders, a junior goalkeeper from Abilene, Texas, has been named the SCAC Women's Soccer Defensive Player of the Week for games played from Monday, October 6th, through Sunday, October 12th.

Anders lifted the War Hawks to back-to-back shutout SCAC road victories last week, defeating Ozarks on Friday, 5-0, and Hendrix on Sunday, 2-0.

Anders and the War Hawk defensive effort limited opponents to just eight total shots, including just three on target. Anders was credited with three saves on the weekend and has now helped McMurry to four SCAC shutouts to this point in the season, tied for the most in any single season in War Hawk program history.
