McMurry University Student-Athletes Shine on SCAC Winter and Spring Academic Honor Rolls

SUWANEE, GA -- The Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference (SCAC) announced its Student-Athlete Academic Honor Rolls for the Winter 2025-26 and Spring 2026 terms. Across both seasons, McMurry University demonstrated outstanding academic success, with 18 student-athletes earning winter honors and 73 student-athletes securing spots on the spring list.

To qualify for this prestigious recognition, a student-athlete must maintain a minimum grade-point average of 3.25 for the term and be a regular member of a varsity athletic team in a sport sponsored by the conference. The conference-wide academic honor rolls featured 360 student-athletes for the winter term and 936 for the spring term. Since the inception of the SCAC Academic Honor Roll in 1997, over 39,400 male and female student-athletes have been recognized for their exceptional contributions in the classroom.

During the Winter 2025-26 term, McMurry had 18 student-athletes recognized for their classroom excellence. This standout group was highlighted by nine representatives from the women's basketball team and two from the men's basketball team. The swimming and diving programs also made a strong showing, with four men and two women earning winter academic honors.

The academic momentum continued into the Spring 2026 term, with an impressive 73 McMurry student-athletes earning honor roll recognition. The baseball team led the university with 24 honorees, followed by the women's track and field team with 16 recipients and the softball team with 14. The men's track and field team added seven selections to the list. Both the tennis and golf programs contributed to the university's overall success as well; the tennis programs featured four men and two women on the list, while the golf programs rounded out the spring achievements with four men and two women receiving recognition.
