ABILENE- The McMurry women's basketball team picked up another conference win as they took down Schreiner at home on Sunday afternoon.
The War Hawks improved to 12-3 overall & 5-1 in conference play, while Schreiner fell to 3-14 overall & 1-7 in conference play.
McMurry has seemingly had the Mountaineer's number this season, earning 2 big wins against them with neither contest being particularly close, as they won each of the two games by 30+ points.
The War Hawks led the whole time, as they jumped off to a 21-6 lead after the first quarter and never gave it up after that. McMurry also had a big third quarter where they outscored Schreiner 21-10 to push their lead up to 30 points going into the fourth quarter of play.
McMurry was able to close the game strong with a 23-16 4th quarter to keep the Mountaineers far away from them on the scoreboard. The War Hawks would go on to win by a score of 74-37.
The War Hawks received lots of contributions in the stat book, and most of their scoring was "by committee" today, with Kylie Flippin leading the way with 10 points, followed by Emily Holland with 9 points, Schreiner was led by Kya Bradshaw with 10 points.
McMurry hits the road again as they take on TLU in Seguin on Friday at 5:30PM in what will be a huge matchup.
