Box Score McMurry University is on a three-game win streak after beating Austin College 88-87 Saturday, Nov. 18 in Kimbrell Arena.

In a game that was tied 45-45 at halftime, the War Hawks outscored the opponent 43- 42 in the second half to get the win. Senior guard CJ LeBlanc (Dallas, Texas) had 22 points and junior guard Matt Pena (El Paso, Texas) added 20. Three other players contributed nine points each.

Coach Zach Pickelman's team had its biggest lead at 11 points midway in the second half. Pena nailed four 3-pointers while LeBlanc made three. At the free throw line, freshman guard DeShawn Crawford (DeSoto, Texas) was 5 of 5, and junior center Andrew Stevenson (Killeen, Texas) and junior forward Josh Alcocer (San Antonio, Texas) were both 2 of 2.

Pena led the team with nine total rebounds, four on offense and five on defense. Senior forward/center Elias Garcia (Houston, Texas) was right behind him with five defensive rebounds and two on offense. LeBlanc had three assists and three steals. Freshman forward Tristan Holden (San Antonio, Texas), freshman guard Jack Bommarito (Denton, Texas) and Stevenson all blocked a shot.

McMurry, 3-0, plays on the road Nov. 26 at 2 p.m. at the University of St. Thomas in Houston and starts American Southwest Conference action Nov. 30 at 7:30 p.m. at East Texas Baptist University in Marshall. Another road game will be Dec. 2 at 3 p.m. against LeTourneau University in Longview. The War Hawks return home Dec. 7 to face Sul Ross State University at 7:30 p.m
