Box Score ALPINE, TEXAS – Rallying back from an eight-point second-half deficit Saturday, Jan. 28, McMurry University tightened up the chase for a spot in the 2023 American Southwest Conference tournament even more.
Head coach Zach Pickelman's squad, wrapping up an unbeaten week in ASC play, used a 14-2 run in the latter stages of the second half to cement an 85-79 victory over host Sul Ross State University. The War Hawks, improving 6-13 overall and 5-7 in the conference, moved within a half-game of sixth-place LeTourneau University on the loop chart.
Junior guard C.J. LeBlanc (Dallas, Texas) concluded a memorable three-day stretch in the Lone Star State's southwestern corner. He drained eight three-pointers en route to 30 points to close out a 57-point span in which he joined the program's 1,000-point club. He was joined by forward/center
