ABILENE, Texas – McMurry University Athletics completed its full-time athletic training staff earlier this month with the additions of Kelly Krivulka and Sean East, who each began work August 4.
The duo join Head Athletic Trainer and Assistant Athletic Director for Scholar-Athlete Wellness Charity McCright and Assistant Athletic Trainer Alli Eggena to make up the current four-person staff.
"We are excited to add Kelly and Sean to our athletic training staff," said McCright, who enters her sixth season at McMurry. "They bring with them a variety of experience that will be a great asset to our staff and help us provide quality healthcare to our scholar-athletes."
Krivulka comes to McMurry from Kyle, Texas, but spent most of her athletic training career on the West Coast. She graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree from California State University, Long Beach in 2018.
While an undergraduate, Krivulka worked with the UCLA football team, the NCAA National Champion Cal State Long Beach men's volleyball team, Santa Barbara City College, El Camino College and St. John Bosco High School. As a graduate assistant at A.T. Still University, she spent two seasons at Xavier College Preparatory covering high school athletics.
"I am looking forward to being part of the McMurry family and am excited for the opportunity to work alongside Charity, Alli, and Sean in providing quality care for our scholar-athletes," said Krivulka.
Meanwhile, East comes to Abilene after working in Oklahoma as a student. He earned his Bachelor of Science degree in athletic training from Southwestern Oklahoma State in 2017, where he covered football, men's basketball, softball and baseball for two years working with preceptors during clinical rotations.
East went on to obtain a master's degree in exercise science from the University of Central Oklahoma this past summer, spending three years at UCO working a variety of sports. Among those, he organized and executed athletic training services for a tennis regional and a wrestling regional tournament.
"I am excited for the opportunity to start my athletic training career here at McMurry University," said East. "I look forward to working with the staff here at McMurry and gaining more experience and knowledge to help better treat these scholar athletes."
During the 2019-20 athletic season, McMurry University was voted the American Southwest Conference Athletic Training Staff of the Year.
