Sean East joined the McMurry University Athletics staff on August 4, 2021 as an assistant athletic trainer. He enters his third year in 2023-2024.
In his role, East fulfills the athletic training duties for men's soccer, men's and women's swimming and baseball, among other duties.
Prior to McMurry, East worked in his home state of Oklahoma, including three seasons at the University of Central Oklahoma and two seasons at Southwestern Oklahoma State. He covered a wide range of sports at those stops, including wrestling, tennis, football, baseball, soccer, softball and basketball. He was also responsible for organizing and executing the Super Region IV Wresting Tournament and the Central Regional Tennis Tournament while at UCO.
East earned a bachelor's degree in athletic training from Southwestern Oklahoma State University in 2017, then later went on to obtain a master of science in exercise science from the University of Central Oklahoma in 2021.
He is originally from Sapulpa, Oklahoma and now resides in Abilene.
