Box Score ABILENE, Texas – It was a quick turnaround for McMurry University Men's Tennis, as the War Hawks (0-2) had an opportunity to bounce back from their season opening loss Sunday morning against Trinity University. However, the 17th-ranked Tigers (2-4) were too much for the War Hawks, dealing them an 8-1 defeat at the Seiedel-Swagerty Tennis Center.
Unable to pick up a point I doubles, McMurry hoped to get back on track in singles competition.
Joseph Diaz led 4-3 in set one at number four singles before winning by retirement, picking up McMurry's only point of the day. Zach Miller, Chase Daniell and Stone Coston battled at their respective flights, but weren't able to come out with victories.
McMurry will next travel to Dallas February 8 for a neutral site matchup with Southwestern College of Kansas.
